  1. No way Anna Kendrick's gonna beat Monique who was in Precious. Sorry Darling. And it's really not fair of you to offer predictions on who will win if you haven't seen all of the films :)

I believe Avatar will sweep up a lot of awards - and Up in the Air, too. But Precious was a revelation - simply because it showed a slice of life that people are unfamiliar with - and Monique's performance as an abusive mother was breathtaking in it audacity. She was truly, truly cruel - and despite her normal, public persona, she was incredibly believable in the role. Kendrick, on the other hand, was good, but the material she had to convey wasn't as riveting as what Monique had to contend with. I also think Gabby Sidibe will beat out the great Meryl Streep - what she went through in that film was horrific. Now granted, Meryl was revelatory as Julia Childs, but come on - Meryl has been nominated 15 times and won twice - let the new kid on the block have won - hopefully The Academy will behave accordingly.

  2. Thank you for your feedback, A. I am not making any predictions; hence, "my picks" as in these are the films/ actors I would like to see win because I thought these movies and those performances were Oscar-worthy.

You are entitled to your opinion and I respect it. Based on the winners of Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards, there is also a chance that Sandra Bullock might win for The Blind Side.

I posted your suggested link. Thanks.
